CALL FOR PAPERS

Workshop on Social TV:
How Social Networking Impacts Your TV Experience

CCNC 2009- Satellite Workshop

January 13 2009, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Click here for all the details on this workshop.

Introduction

YouTube, 3-screens, Facebook … the last two years have been exciting for the TV consumer. As more and more content migrates to the Internet, 'personal' video choices are becoming the norm, not the exception. And this is attracting the attention of end users, operators, content providers and advertisers alike.

This workshop will cover many aspects of personal and social video consumption in the connected world. It will range from architectures to solutions that allow the deployment of video services. It will highlight community based approaches intended on harnessing the power of individuals, from their technologies to their behavior. It will cover some concepts of current TV networking technologies with an emphasis on end-to-end approaches. These are exciting and challenging times in the TV world. TV offerings are moving from generic to personal and shared. TV viewing, like the Internet, is moving from 'Things' to 'Services.'
